Montana resumes big-game wolf hunt on Sunday. By the Associated Press.

Although only 3 more wolves can be taken in the Wilderness area just north of the YNP boundary, if wolves do come northward out of the Park to eat the remains of the elk kills in the Wilderness area (likely I think), having this area in the wolf hunt has the clear effect of legally killing what are normally Park wolves.

Here is the Montana wolf hunt map.

  1. ProWolf in WY Says:

It is interesting the guide wants to have photo safaris for grizzlies and wolves. I hope that he can make a go of it and it can persuade others to do the same.

  2. Bob Ream Says:

Not true! Hunting District 316 was closed by FWP for the remainder of the hunting season to any more taking of wolves. The 3 remaining under the harvest limit for WMU3 must come from outside the A-B wilderness area north of Yellowstone NP. Stop spreading false rumors.
