Palin & Chevron; Spill Disaster in the Making

There are 6-million gallons of crude sitting at the base of Mt. Redoubt-

Palin & Chevron; Spill Disaster in the Making. Shannyn Moore. Just a girl from Homer. Huffington Post.

Ms. Moore asks a good question:  “Why is there 6 million gallons of crude oil just sitting at the base of a live volcano? Currently, 6 million gallons of Alaska crude oil wait at the base of a volcano that has puked, spewed and gone half mad 19 times in the last 8 days.”

ed. note: the last time Mt. Redoubt erupted the oil terminal was almost taken out. They built a dike around it later. So far it has held. Pretty reassuring!

The Coast Guard is working with the state Department of Environmental Conservation and the Cook Inlet Pipeline Co. to determine if the oil should be removed and how it could be done, said Sara Francis, a Coast Guard spokeswoman.

Francis said a flyover of the facility on Monday afternoon indicated that the storage tanks are not damaged. Earthen berms that surround each tank also appear to be OK, though water appeared to have flowed over a berm that surrounds the tank farm.

Somehow I get the feeling that some in Alaska, like the oil-based governor, are probably hoping the whole facility goes so they can charge higher prices for the stuff since they have been complaining, recently that the revenues are down…

Princess Palin is a disgrace to educated and thinking women all over the US and especially those of us who went to universities she claims to have attended (and somehow graduated from).

I don’t think she has much of a clue when it comes to the realities of life and wildlife, other than as targets for her to shoot at.

That oil facility should have been attended to when the volcano first showed signs of eruption. It always boils down to the “almighty dollar” and whatever may get in the way of the acquisition of it is subject to elimination, regardless of how important it may be to the rest of the world. A blind obsession…

    Salle,

Let me get this straight, because she’s not a liberal she’s a disgrace? Or is it because she supports what the majority of her states residents want? What are the possibilities of a Pro Oil govenor in the largest oil producing state.
